We are very pleased to announce a return to one of our favourite towns and theatres in Ontario. This time, we're bringing Canadian actor/comedian/singer/author Sean Cullen to join with us in a celebration of the music and legacy of a Canadian icon, Stompin' Tom Connors. “Stompin’ Tom’s Canada Meets Sean Cullen’s Comedy” is a playful, funny, very musical and all Canadian show starring one of Stompin’ Tom’s favourite touring bands, Whiskey Jack. Sean and the band have presented their onstage antics numerous times over the years and will be on tour again in 2020.
Duncan Fremlin and his show “Whiskey Jack Presents Stories & Songs of Stompin’ Tom” first invited comedian, author, actor and singer Sean Cullen to join them at their very first concert in 2014. As Sean stepped onto the stage that night, he told the audience that Tom had written songs about potatoes, tomatoes and tobacco but sadly, not one about what many consider to be Canada’s national food, poutine. Within minutes and with the band providing the soundtrack, I Love Poutine was created, on stage, in front of hundreds of hungry fans. It brought the house down!
Whiskey Jack’s 25 years on stage and in the studio with Stompin’ Tom form the heart and soul of this show, now in its 7th year. Each night, Duncan and his all star musicians, including 5 time Canadian National Fiddle Champion, Randy Morrison and 2 time Juno nominee, Douglas John Cameron, captivate the fans by singing all the hits (The Hockey Song, Bud the Spud and more) and sharing stories of the private, backstage world of Stompin’ Tom. And yes, these are the outrageous tales that made him the legendary iconic hero to the entire country.
Joining this cast of Canadian characters is a long time friend and collaborator with this show, Cindy Church.
It's been a long time since we visited the welcoming home of Peter and Marlene Chitty. In the world of "house concerts", this is the gold standard. Great seating, PA, excellent location and the most welcoming hosts you can imagine. This will be like your very own private Stompin' Tom show. Order in advance the suggested donation of $25. Call 705-436-3927
To celebrate Mother’s Day, Whiskey Jack presents Stories & Songs of Stompin’ Tom will perform a 100% Canadian show – that is not only a portrait of Whiskey Jack’s years on stage with Stompin' Tom - but also anecdotes and songs from their years as cast members on the CBC's Tommy Hunter Show. It includes audio clips and photos from the band's many years on stage with these two Canadian giants. Current Whiskey Jack members include, founding member Duncan Fremlin, who has been with the group for 43 years, Douglas John Cameron (2 time Juno nominee), Randy Morrison (5 time winner, National Bluegrass Fiddle Player Award), Eric Jackson, and Buck McWateres.
The College of Piping and Celtic Performing Arts, 619 Water St., Summerside, PEI C1N 4H8
PEI is the home province, the motherland if you will, of all things Stompin' Tom and we're scheduled to visit there on May 8, 2020. Whenever we visited the island with Tom, it was always a special time. There was lots of socializing which left Whiskey Jack with lots of free time to explore the island. On one of our tours, we stopped in Ottawa on July 1 to play the Parliament Hill Canada Day celebration in front of hundreds of thousands of flag waving Canadians....this video contains some of that footage. We hope you can attend the show on May 8, 2020. For more details, go to our website, www. HelloOutThere.ca Check out the promo video: https://youtu.be/CM82FCOxOxI
Saint John Public House, 32 Grannan St., Saint John, NB E2L1E3
We're very excited to be bringing our show, Stories & Songs of Stompin' Tom to the birthplace of the man himself, Saint John New Brunswick. If you've never been to a Stompin' Tom show, you're in for a rip-roarin' good time. We performed many shows with Tom and guarantee to honour his approach to entertaining...unpredictable, playful and super fun. We'll play the hits with our all star band of seasoned Canadian country music performers.
$25 advance, $30 at the door.
Tom was born on February 9, 1936 so April 16 is a bit late to call this the 7th Annual Stompin' Tom Birthday Celebration but that's what it's going to be. Our special guest this year will be Canadian Country Music star, Marie Bottrell. Marie has been an international country music star her entire life...8 Juno nominations, Hall of Fame, awards too numerous to mention. Joining Marie on our guest list is Murray Foster from Great Big Sea. Murray fills the stage with his voice, wit and charm. The show will once again be aired on AM740 and 96.7FM and streamed to the internet on Robbie Lane's nightly radio program. Here's Marie singing with us at our 2019 Idea City show at Koerner Hall. https://youtu.be/WXV59ZwbAH0
There's a certain symmetry, aligning of the stars if you will, about us performing our Stompin' Tom show at a Canadian brewery. Consider - the Stories and Songs of Canada's most prolific and famous drinker of beer, Stompin Tom Connors present their antics in Corbyville Ontario, one of the most historic distillery towns in Canada. Many United Empire Loyalists drank a few pints and shots in Corbyville and we are thrilled to continue that tradition on March 21, 2020. Photo by Duncan Fremlin, taken in 1993 during one of our beer drinking sessions in a Quebec City hotel room.
If ever there was a time for joyful music and playful banter, it's now. Please join us at the Free Times Cafe as we set the musical table in anticipation of a happy and healthy 2019 Christmas. Our guest will be our good friend and a Canadian treasure, actress Deborah Grover, star of the two hot shows on TV right this minute, "Anne with an E" on CBC and "Jan" on CTV. To reserve your seat, call for a dinner reservation. 416-967-1078. $20 at the door.
This is a rare but very welcome afternoon show in a region of Ontario where Tom made his career, Brant County.
Evergreen Theatre, 1660 Stronach Mountain Road, Margaretsville, NS B0S 1N0
We've been working for quite some time to make this happen..thanks to David for the invitation to perform here. This is the perfect music for the fans in Margaretsville. When I was with Tom on his East Coast tours, we didn't often get to play in the smaller towns. This will be a real treat for us.
Mermaid Theatre Imperial Performing Arts , 106 Gerrish St., Windsor, NS B0N2T0
The stories will be zany but true and the songs will be true but zany when we pull up to the back door of this theatre with our rig! Very excited to be performing in Windsor NS.
Y'arc Playhouse and Arts Centre, 76 Parade St. , Yarmouth, NS B5A 3B4
Crazy fun is going to be had by all as we bring our Stompin' Tom road show to this fine theatre. It'll be the 5 piece band that has been touring the country for over 5 years. You can download our lament about Tom's departure from the Canadian music scene by clicking on our website..www.whiskeyjackmusic.com
Our tours with Stompin' Tom included big cities and the like. We never made it to Pictou on these cross country treks. Tom performed in Pictou in his earlier days when he was starting out. We're thrilled to be bringing his music back to town. Please come to our show and say "hi". You must have a Stompin' Tom story to share.
Second of two shows in this excellent hall. It seats approximately 100. Our show works perfectly in an intimate setting like this. Light supper at 6:30. Show at 7 pm.
We're very pleased to announce two shows in New Brunswick to begin our week long tour in Eastern Canada. This hall seats approximately 100 and a "light supper" will be served after this show. Tickets available soon. For more details or tickets by phone, call 506-608-1503
We're thrilled to join forces with all of the devoted committee members and volunteers at the newly renovated Wingham Town Hall Theatre to bring our show to what can best be described as one of Canada's top Country Music Capitals, Wingham Ontario. Much music history has been made here over the years and we're about to begin a whole new era of outstanding performances.
We are very pleased to return to the friendly and artsy Beaches community in east Toronto. We play from the famous gazebo - the perfect vibe for our music. It's a free event. Bring the kids! We'll ask our Juno nominated kids performer Douglas John Cameron to teach us how to floss and dance the "Ants In Your Pants" dance. everyone to his
