Send us a "hello". We'd like to know who you are

Here's Our Story

Whiskey Jack 2025

We're on a mission

“Canada’s Not For Sale but there will be merch” - Séan Cullen.  Only a Canadian could have written that line.

Our show has been mostly free of politics for our 45+ years but that ended the day of the US inauguration.

Canada will never be the 51st state, ever.  As the only democracy (sorry Mexico, you don't make the cut) left on this continent, our determination to protect our sovereignty is more pronounced than ever.

Until further notice, we stand behind our mentor, Canada's most famous patriot, Stompin' Tom Connors.

Duncan was in the recording studio the day Tom introduced his famous line,

"if you don't believe your country should come before yourself, you can better serve your country by living somewhere else."

That line will guide us until this threat is behind us, or until we're dead, whichever comes first.

In the meantime, For almost 50 years, Whiskey Jack has been performing their unique brand of Canadian country, folk and roots music throughout North America. In the 1980's, they were featured weekly on CBC TV's Tommy Hunter Show. During those years, each Friday night, a temporarily retired Stompin' Tom Connors would watch their segment, The Ol' Back Porch and became an avid Whiskey Jack fan. Along with 2 million of his fellow Canadians, Tom enjoyed the band's humour, soaring vocals and amazing musicianship. When Stompin' Tom returned to the recording studio and the road after a 13 year hiatus, he called Whiskey Jack and invited them to join him in the studio to record his acclaimed album, "Dr. Stompin' Tom... Eh?". These two Canadian musical institutions would continue to perform and record often together until Tom's death in 2013. With many recordings to their credit, members of the band include band founder and raconteur, Duncan Fremlin on banjo.  On guitar (and many other instruments), with 2 Juno nominations for his voice,  virtuosity and his original songs is Douglas John Cameron.  Throughout their touring season, they also welcome Stompin' Tom's long time fiddler from PEI, Billy MacInnis.  Billy is "the real deal".
