Here at Whiskey Jack head office, we join our fellow Canadians and look forward to a more secure and predictable future. We certainly hope this finds you and your family Covid-free and ready to take on whatever tomorrow presents.
There are some very creative and determined programmers in Canada who are working diligently to keep their theatres, clubs and festivals alive, and to those people, we say thank you. All of us in Whiskey Jack will be there to stand on your stage and entertain the fans with our show Stories & Songs of Stompin' Tom. We can hardly wait.
There is no established formula for hosting a live event these days but there are a lot of variations to choose from. John at the Moonshine Cafe is streaming his shows from the stage indoors to a large screen on his patio. The Neat Cafe in Burnsville is promoting group sales to their outdoor shows. David Nairn at Theatre Orangeville has been leading the way with a playful and entertaining campaign to keep in touch with his supporters. This is the kind of vision that will revitalize the mostly dormant live entertainment scene in 2021.
As for Whiskey Jack, we will be performing our show (first one in a long long time) on September 11, 2020 at the Signal Brewery in Corbyville Ontario (near Belleville). This will be a safe outdoor event, reduced capacity but a full-on show. 8:00 PM start.
We have numerous shows booked into 2021 including an extensive Eastern Canada tour in May. Details on our website. We continue to write, arrange, rehearse and fine-tune our presentation in anticipation of an energized live music scene in the months ahead. We will work the phones each day, determined to fill up our 2021 calendar. Check our website or our Facebook page for the current schedule.
We'll see you soon!
